Review: KomS Technology Forum on Micropollutants 2026

The KomS Technology Forum on Micropollutants 2026 brought together more than 130 experts from municipalities, academia, engineering consultancies, and industry at the Ettlingen Town Hall on 11 June. The conference featured a comprehensive and highly topical programme covering micropollutant removal, innovative treatment technologies, and operational experience. The event was complemented by an extensive technical exhibition and a technical excursion to the Karlsruhe wastewater treatment plant.

Key topics included questions such as Which treatment technology performs best? and the practical experiences gained from operating advanced treatment systems. The combination of scientific presentations, practical case studies, the technical exhibition, and the excursion made the forum an important meeting place for everyone involved in micropollutant removal and quaternary treatment.

The newly introduced Exhibitor Pitches, giving each exhibitor just 90 seconds to present their solutions, were particularly well received and added a dynamic element to the programme.

We would like to thank all participants, speakers, exhibitors, and partners for contributing to the success of the event. We look forward to welcoming everyone again in June 2027 in Friedrichshafen, where we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of KomS.
